Global Talent Management and Programs â⬠Free Samples to Students
Question: Discuss about the Global Talent Management and Programs. Answer: Introduction Currently the human resource departments of the business organizations are going thrugh a process of change as in contemporary times the business concerns are facing various challenges that are complex and new in nature and somehow exploit opportunities. This metamorphosis of human resource department can be looked at as a direct call of the frequent changes within the business sector because of the factors like globalization (Parakandi and Behery 2016). It is seen that due to globalization the worldwide competition within the shorter and connected world, and the decision making processes within the organization is becoming more convoluted and intricate. The globalized world had helped to widen the pool of talent for effective and marginal employees and also for fluid and permanent workers (Mockaitis, Zander and De Cieri 2018). It can be said that a business concerns talent can effectively become a source for a sustainable competitive advantage and may affect vital outcomes of the bu siness organizations; such as profitability, satisfaction level of the clients and the overall performance of the workforce of the company (Parakandi and Behery 2016). Thus in the changed and globalized world, the human resources department of the business organizations should take the advantage of data analytics and latest technology to build a human resource information system that is globalized and collects data from numerous sources. This particular system would help analyzing the collected data in order to provide the business leaders and the managements a powerful insight, ability to develop strategies for future and also the capability to predict the future requirements of the business organization (Hughes and Byrd 2017). The purpose of this essay is to highlight that how due to globalization and technological revolution; human resource management is facing troubles and what are they expecting to change in coming two decades in the business sector. It is seen that the pool of talented workforce is gradually developing and is predicting to grow significantly in the coming years due to increased opportunities to get education in developed nations (Mockaitis, Zander and De Cieri 2018). Apart from that, the requirement for talent is predicted to grow more in near future. Based on a survey it is seen that World Economic Forum stated that the vast talent gaps between the demand and supply of effective workforce will appear within the year of 2020. This increasing demand is taking place not only in the developed first world countries but in the developing nations too as they are aiming to develop their countries by all means (Kumar 2014). The human resource officials of multinational business organizations operating in the emerging markets of countries like Hungary, China, India and Malaysia are seen to have stated that the professionals pursuing in engineering and positions in general management are prone to exhibit a range of variat ion in sustainability (Hughes and Byrd 2017). It is seen that in todays world merely 20 percent of the university graduates who have studied in developing nations have the capability to work in multinational organizations because of their lack of cultural fit, lack of language skills and low quality education system (Mockaitis, Zander and De Cieri 2018). Also, it is a matter of fact that only a smaller portion of these individuals seeks to relocate or have the capability to seek to relocate to other countries for employment purpose (Kerzner and Kerzner 2017). This exposes the HR professionals towards a threat and that is to be able to manage a workforce that is diverse in language and culture skills and are scattered in numerous nations (Parakandi and Behery 2016). It invokes a critical situation as where the business organizations does not get familiarized with the domestic ways or methods of running operations and realizes the requirements of the domestic consumers and developing a global mentality for the employees (Ahmad, Tariq and Hussain 2015). The multinational business organizations being in the middle of the globalization surely requires to understand the fact that they should learn to integrate value system that is diverse and espouse shared global work values in order to create an ideal environment where the employees have the ability to coordinate and communicate their activities to attain shared targets or goals (Kumar 2014). In this regard, it should be mentioned that human resource department should play a new role and take up responsibilities to lead the business organization in adverse times when globalization brings in various challenges for the business sector (Brewster et al. 2016). Thus, it can be said that the two possible challenges that the human resource departments can face due to globalization are inadequacy of talented workers in the emerging countries and significant availability of low cost labor in the countries that are developing (Hughes and Byrd 2017). To address the initial issue that the human resource department is facing in contemporary times, it can be said that, in spite of the recent downturn in economy and worldwide unemployment (Mockaitis, Zander and De Cieri 2018). The majority of the develop nations like United States of America, Japan and Germany will have to face a long term shortage in the talent pool because of the retirement of baby boomers and ageing. Each year there are significant amount of employees are retiring and the existing talent pool is unable to replenish the gap in the workforce (Kerzner and Kerzner 2017). It is predicted that by the year of 2020, when five employees will retire, the existing talent pool will be able to fill the gap of only four employees if not lesser than that and this statistic makes the situation concerning for the human resource officials (Parakandi and Behery 2016). In accordance with a survey it is seen that the United States will be needing more than 25 millions of employees by the year of 2030 in order to fill the gaps in their workforce in order to sustain the economic growth o the country unless and until a significant technological boost is seen (Brewster et al. 2016). On the other hand the requirement of Europe will be somewhat like 46 millions of employees and that is somewhat unattainable figure in the contemporary times. It is seen that the inadequacy of the workers in business sectors are predicted across various industries and that includes construction, manufacturing, trade, transport and many more (Al Ariss 2014). In recent times, it is seen that in the developing nations the availability of cheap labor is immense and some of those countries are China, India, Brazil, Russia; and in those countries the big MNCs try to outsource their jobs and get the job done in a very cheap price (Ahmad, Tariq and Hussain 2015). The global growth of population varies immensely between the developing and the developed countries and in the developed nations; the growth rate is approximately 0.3 percent where as in the developing nations the rate becomes six times than the growth rate of the developed nations (Hughes and Byrd 2017). From surveys it is seen that currently there are more than 33 millions of employees are there in the talent pool of the emerging markets and the amount is growing rapidly (Mockaitis, Zander and De Cieri 2018). It is a matter of fact that the reserve of professional talent in the developing nations are increasing by almost 6 % yearly where as on the other hand the growth in the reserve of talent pool in developed countries is mere 1 % annually (Brewster et al. 2016). The problem in this context is that despite having a large amount of reserve talent the human resource department of the big MNC s are unable to recruit them because of the lack of language skills, poor educational quality in the developing nations and lesser cultural intelligence of the candidates (Parakandi and Behery 2016). This section of this essay emphasizes on the roles and responsibilities of the human resource department in the current scenario. Previously the function of HRM was seen as an administrative overhead and a cost centre (Al Ariss 2014). Back then the HR department used to focus on the short term gains for the organizations and they emphasized on the administrative efficiency and compliance activities. The HR professionals back then used to have a tendency to expense investments in the talent intangibles rather capitalizing and raising short-term earnings by lowering the discretionary expenses on the development of people (Brewster et al. 2016). Those tendencies definitely helped them to achieve short-term targets but invoked various long-term problems after the initial intentions were attained at the cost of the productivity of the employees (Mockaitis, Zander and De Cieri 2018). Thus, in the present scenario the HR professionals should focus on the long term objectives of the business organizations they work for and they should not only focus on the internal issues regarding human resources (Kerzner and Kerzner 2017). The modern human resources department thus should take a broader and balanced approach towards the situation. Strategic business partner, change agent, employee champion and administration expert should be the area of focus for the HR department (Kumar 2014). Strategic business partner and change agent functions are regarding helping and leading to formulate the overall strategy of the company and aligning those with the activities of human resources (Al Ariss 2014). Unless and until the strategy of HR is formulated and is implemented in the operations of the business there will be a risk factor for the company (Parakandi and Behery 2016). As an employee of the organization advocate and sponsor, the HR professional can play an important role fo r the success of the business organization via his or her knowledge regarding the advocacy of people. This incorporates expertise in creating a suitable work environment for the employees will be motivated enough to ensure working with their full potential (Ahmad, Tariq and Hussain 2015). This is because when the workforce is motivated they will do the best for the company to satisfy the goals set by the management. The HR professionals are considered the champion of globalization and they help to grow a global mindset in the employees of the organization (Mockaitis, Zander and De Cieri 2018). When the workforce has a global mindset that implies the acknowledgment of the benefits, the whole organization can enjoy by valuing and encouraging the cultural diversity in the workforce (Kerzner and Kerzner 2017). The globalization is influencing the low cost labor and the high technology (Al Ariss 2014). Thus, it can be said that the role of human resource department should be implementing necessary organizational strategies with caution. Conclusion Thus to conclude, it can be said that globalization is driven by various factors and the most important of those factors are shortage in the talent pool, increasing low cost labor and immense technological progress. In spite of the current down turn in the job market it is seen that due to these factors within a time span of 10 years, developed countries like America, Germany and Japan will experience immense shortage of labor due to various factors mentioned above. Thus the shrinkage in the workforce would not be possible to compensate and there lies the importance of changing the perception of the HR professionals to a much global and wider approach. Nowadays only the HR departments of the big MNCs are trying to modify their mode of operations but eventually the department of HR of all the business organizations would have to change their outlook and act according to the increasing need of the job market. thus the HR professionals should assemble and maintain a database on some fac tors like attrition, employees, hiring, compensations and benefits, cultural and nationality distribution, ethnicity, gender and many more and then load the database in data marts and warehouses for the best interest for the organizations they work for. Music and Western Civilization Essay Example For Students
Music and Western Civilization Essay Considering the rapid technological developments in the recent past, westernization of indigenous cultures is a common occurrence. Ideally, many parts of the world have been influenced by western civilization due to early technological developments that took place in the western countries. Music from the western world contributes significantly to the spread of western civilization in other parts of the world. In this regard, the following discussion will evaluate personal experience of live music performance I attended to. In 2013, I was lucky to experience live performances of various musicians during the annual MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA). As expected, the MTV VMA receives international attention because prominent artists feature during the awards. It is for this reason that tried my best to attend the 30th annual MTV VMA live performance on August 25th, 2013 at Brooklynns Barclays Center. Interestingly, MTV VMA performances thrilled the audience in attendance to the extent I had never experienced. Audience applauded their favorite artists while analyzing the whole show. During the entire period, different artists performed various songs in a bid to entertain their audience in celebration of their achievement. For instance, Kanye West performed the song titled ââ¬Å"Blood on the Leavesâ⬠for the first time live on the stage. In many cases, artists stage unique performances during MTV VMA in order to attract the attention of the audience. Other performances included ââ¬Å"Applauseâ⬠by Lady Gaga, ââ¬Å"Hold On, Weââ¬â¢re Going Homeâ⬠by Drake, ââ¬Å"Gorillaâ⬠by Bruno Mars, ââ¬Å"Same Loveâ⬠by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and ââ¬Å"Take Back The Nightâ⬠by Justin Timberlake. All artists demonstrated a high level of creativity by crafting their performance in a way that appealed to the audience. In evaluating the performance settings, both the artist and the audience showed unique behavior due to the activities that took place at Brooklynns Barclays Center on that night. Almost all artist dressed costumes that closely matched the theme of their performance. In addition, it was evident that all the performers were happy and psyched up for the performance since they showed energy in all their performances. Audience too had their share of demonstrating their energy by dancing and cheering for their favorite performances. Moreover, the audience also discussed widely while rating the performances done by various artists. Parameters were used by the audience to evaluate live performances and provide different ratings to artists. In many cases, many audiences judge performance according to the level of positive feedback from the crowd. However, certain elements, judged independently, contribute to the overall feedback provided by the audience. According to Georgia Department of Education, assessment of live music performances involves evaluation of musical elements, such as rhythm, melody and timbre, and critiquing using concert customs and musical technique used (2009). Performance of ââ¬Å"Blood on the Leavesâ⬠was my favorite during that night. Stage performance of the song incorporated animations such as dim light illuminating and illustration of ââ¬Ëtree leavesââ¬â¢. ââ¬Å"Blood on the Leavesâ⬠was an important song to me because it highlighted important issues in the community such as racism and slavery. In addition, the backup artists in the song were energetic, and encouraged Kanye West hence motivating the audience to sing and dance along. It is the remarks of the master of ceremony during the introduction of the artist that caught the attention of the audience hence motivating them to respond positively. In conclusion, MTV VMA live performance in 2013 was an exciting experience. Various artists performed various categories of music and other short plays that entertained the audience. Considering the publicity given to the MTV VMA, it is undeniable that the western civilization has influenced indeginous cultures around the world .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf , .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf .postImageUrl , .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf , .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf:hover , .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf:visited , .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf:active { border:0!important; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf:active , .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u42adf1c25db484137f42c9d02c47f4cf:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Critical Analysis of the Octoroon EssayBibliography: Georgia Department of Education. Learn How to Solve an Entropy Change Problem
Learn How to Solve an Entropy Change Problem This example problem demonstrates how to examine the reactants and products to predict the sign of the change in entropy of a reaction. Knowing if the change in entropy should be positive or negative is a useful tool to check your work on problems involving changes in entropy. It is easy to lose a sign during thermochemistry homework problems. Entropy Problem Determine if the entropy change will be positive or negative for the following reactions:A) (NH4)2Cr2O7(s) ââ â Cr2O3(s) 4 H2O(l) CO2(g)B) 2 H2(g) O2(g) ââ â 2 H2O(g)C) PCl5 ââ â PCl3 Cl2(g) Solution Entropy of a reaction refers to the positional probabilities for each reactant. An atom in gas phase has more options for position than the same atom in a solid phase. This is why gases have more entropy than solids. In reactions, the positional probabilities must be compared for all the reactants to the products produced. If the reaction involves only gases, the entropy is related to the total number of moles on either side of the reaction. A decrease in the number of moles on the product side means lower entropy. An increase in the number of moles on the product side means higher entropy. If the reaction involves multiple phases, the production of a gas typically increases the entropy much more than any increase in moles of a liquid or solid.Reaction A(NH4)2Cr2O7(s) ââ â Cr2O3(s) 4 H2O(l) CO2(g)The reactant side contains only one mole where the product side has six moles produced. The was also a gas produced. The change in entropy will be positive.Reaction B2 H2(g) O2(g) ââ â 2 H2O(g)There are 3 moles on the reactant side and only 2 on the product side. The change in entropy will be negative.Reaction CPCl5 ââ â PCl3 Cl2(g)There are more moles on the product side than on the reactant side, therefore the change in entropy will be positive. Answer: Reactions A and C will have positive changes in entropy.Reaction B will have negative changes in entropy.

Compare Jamestown to New England Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Compare Jamestown to New England - Essay Example Many figure the town as having no pride, no positive history and as a death-haunted town marked by misery. On the hand, New England had a more Nobel idea about the town. The empire was a town of prosperity both economically and in spiritual nourishing, with morals and values that severely contradicted the state of Jamestown. Therefore, to solve the social moral decay and miseries in Jamestown brought about by economic prosperity, and as a way to salvage the face of the church of Engalnd, there sprouted a separatist group that founded a new society, which gave rise to New England. The Spanish empire in America was desirable with successful institutions and good-looking models that had great influence on the English entry model in the new colony around Jamestown and the larger Massachusetts area. The British had three elements in their mission: to conquer and take the land of the American Indians, to search for gold, which bolstered trade, and protecting the native local ââ¬Å"savages â⬠from the brutality of the Spanish colonizers (Lin 380). The English had misconceptions about the Spanish model of colonization, which involved overthrowing the native leaders and installing Spanish governors while maintaining the Indian political system in place (Lin, 380). The approach resulted to immense wealth for the Spanish King. This created a misconception among English leaders who tried to emulate the same model in Jamestown. They mainly conquered large areas, just as the Spanish incorporated the Indians in the English society, using them for labor and to survive, which made the English extra rich from ample resources in the colonies (Lin 380). The British colony was therefore based in Jamestown, Chesapeake Bay region. However, the Spanish model did not succeed as expected as the British had misconceived ideas about the nature and political system of the Indian Americans. In 1603, King James 1 of England, jealous of the Spanish success in the new world, sought to est ablish his own colonies in sprawling areas of North America that were untapped. The king issued the Virginia Company a charter, empowering it to own in excess of six million acres of land in North America, and this was how the British established its colony, where the King hoped the empire would benefit England from its immense resources, and ensure the English poor masses had an ideal destination for employment. This led to mass relocation of the poor from Britain to Jamestown, to position them for employment in the new empire. However, new empire was riddled with all forms of evils, with the Virginia Company directors finding an easy way to reap and create immense riches. There were massive looting and corruption cases, besides severe ravaging disease epidemics among the newcomers in the new territory. The increasing farming practices in the new British colonies gave rise to slavery, towards feeding the yawning labor gap in new firms. Therefore, Massachusetts became the first regi on to legalize use of slaves in British farms. Within a few years upon entering into America, the British stripped the blacks off any human dignity and used them as slaves, resulting to immense suffering of the blacks. Israel and Philistine Debate - Research Paper Example Fact 3inspite of the UN decision, Israeli public would be able not to recognize an independent state of Palestine (Hazony). Palestinian Question: Why did so many Palestinians sell their lands to the Israelis around 1948 if they really did not want Israelis to occupy lands in the area? Fact 1 A massive flow of refugees from Palestinian land to Israel resulted in the creation of a unilateral state of Israel that managed to shelter thousands of refugees from Arab nations and Palestinians (Palestinian Land). Fact 2 Hostile moods of Palestinians in 60s resulted in an unfavorable atmosphere in Israel (Whose Land?). Fact 3 Arabs did not believe in Israelisââ¬â¢ victory in the war and sold their lands to them having a hope to return to their homeland, which, actually was sold by their own hands. Israeli Question discussion The first fact that implies a more flexible policy conduct by Israeli is effective for putting up a conflict in Palestiniansââ¬â¢ war for independence only in case P alestine would be ready to negotiate all core issues of their separation from Israeli. The majority of supporters of unilateral existence of Israeli and Palestinian states confirm the fact that the independence of the latter would result in a numerous chain of military conflicts or may even lead to war. Moreover, Israeli public claims that it will be able not to recognize the independence of Palestine. This fact can be justified, because this nation has sold its own land to Israeli and did not want to live as an independent nation, but now it appeals for the international community and has a clear intention to fight for its independence (Benari). With regards to the previous facts of hostile moods of Palestinians, it is hard to believe that the independent state would show tolerance to refugees, development of social programs etc (Palestinian Land). Moreover, an intention to establish an independent government could disturb Israeliââ¬â¢s territory. Palestinian Question discussion In the end of 40s, Israel managed to give a shelter to thousands of refugees from Palestine. In 10 years, Palestinians were not pleased by the fact that their land has already been gone, though it was their own fault and they sold their land themselves. Palestinians have deeply rooted historical bounds with Israel. This land is their motherland. The core of the conflict should not be found in the pieces of land that historically belonged to Palestinian public, but it is better to work in favor of the country, Israel, that saved this nation. Currently, Palestinians appeal for the UN and insist on ââ¬Å"the promise it made to them six decades ago, ensuring that a just resolution for Palestinian refugees is put into effectâ⬠(The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict). Conclusion A life-long conflict between Israel and Palestine is rather challenging and represents an interesting topic for discussion. It has deep historical roots, but in order to solve it, it is desirable to look at the historical essence of the conflict. Therefore, in one way or another, but Israel has a dominance over Palestine, because it owns the land that was sold to them by Palestinians. It would be better for Palestinians to confirm the fact of their existence in terms of the state that sheltered
